Oh Too Faced..You steal my heart over and over again!
The Too Faced Chocolate Gold Eyeshadow Palette is a shimmer lover’s dream. This palette includes 16 shades with a mix of shimmers and mattes to achieve a complete look with just one palette.
The shimmers in this palette are probably one of the best shimmer formulas I have ever tried. Each shade is buttery smooth and not chunky at all.
Fallout is a bit of a problem with some shades, but that is expected when using an intense shimmer or glitter shadow.
Tips on how to extend the longevity and appearance of glitter shadows can be found here
My only issue with this palette is the use of a setting spray on these shadows can damage the consistency of the formula.
Usually with shimmer shadows, I will spray my brush lightly with a setting spray to intensify the color payoff, but when trying that with these shadows, I found it left the pan dull and ruined the shimmers. You’ll notice what I’m talking about on the shade Classy & Sassy below.
Luckily the intensity of the colors is so extreme you don’t even need a setting spray really.
I love that this palette includes a matte bone shade, Rollin’ In Dough, which is perfect for setting eyeshadow primer. It also includes 2 transition shades, So Boujee and Cocoa Truffle.
Decadent, which is a rich black, is great for smoking out the lower lash line and deepening the outer v.
Here is a closer look at each shade individually.
This palette is available at Ulta, Sephora, and Too Faced website for $49.00. I think this is a very fair price considering the quality of the shadows and it’s ease of use.
