A little known fact about myself..I hate ordering makeup online if I can help it. I don’t know what my problem is, but I would rather wait 3 weeks for a store to stock an item than order it online and wait a week to receive it. I know, I’m weird. Am I the only one who feels like this?
I will literally check Ulta’s website daily to see if an item is back in stock when I can totally just order it online and have it delivered in a fraction of the time it takes for the store to get it back in. LOL I’m ridiculous.
Anyone who watches NikkieTutorials on YouTube is familiar with Juvia’s Place. She raves about their palettes quite often and rightfully so. The pigment on screen looks incredible and they seem to blend really well. I mean, Nikkie is the Queen of the Seamless Blend so you know she is not going to promote a patchy shadow. Come on, now!
Naturally, I was convinced to pull the trigger on Juvia’s place after watching one of NikkieTutorials videos.
Now I will admit that the process of receiving the palette was not the best. Processing and shipping took some time, again why I hate ordering online. I am seriously the most impatient person EVER. I will literally track a shipment the moment I receive my “it shipped, track it now” email.
I know I’m not the only one who does this, by the way. Who else anticipates the “ping” in your inbox alerting you your order has shipped, only to continuously track it 10 times a day until it arrives?
Aside from the re-routing issue of my package and the delay in receiving it, I really think the hype around this brand is justified.
I chose to order the Zulu Palette, which is a 9-shade that retails for $21.50
The pan sizes in this palette are very generous.
Before we get too far into the shadows, lets address this packaging which is absolutely incredible. Omg I feel like I can stare at this palette forever. I love the holographic element and the rainbow reflection you get with each movement of the component. It really is just stunning. Rainbow vibes, all day every day.
As far as the shadows themselves, this palette swatches soo beautifully. I was instantly blown away by the pigment and quality of each shadow. There is not a single bad shade in this palette. Both mattes and shimmers are opaque and gorgeous. You will get nothing but full coverage with these shadows guys. They are truly amazing!
Just look at these swatches. This is one swipe guys… One swipe!
Yes, this palette is definitely bold, but I encourage you not to be afraid of color. My advice is always to step outside of your comfort zone and play with bold colors a little bit. They may seem intimidating, but you can definitely pull it off. This is what makeup is all about.
The pink, orange, and yellow are great for crease shades. Bold, yes. But go for it.
Use the purple or chocolate brown in the outer V to darken the look up and add some drama.
The teal is stunning along the lower lash line.
The shimmer shades are surprisingly versatile. You can use them wet or dry. Pack them on the lid for a beautiful metallic element or line the lower lash line for an added pop of color.
I seriously cannot get over how gorgeous these shimmer shades are. I want this formula in every color known to man. I really don’t think I would ever need another palette. Although I would probably still buy palettes, because I have a problem.
My advice to you is if you’ve heard of this brand and you’ve been debating whether to order or not, do it!v You absolutely should as you will not be disappointed. This is one brand that is worth the time to wait it out.
